We slept on the roadside, with loud vehicles rushing past us day and night—never a moment of peace. One day, a kind woman saw our suffering. She, along with a few generous souls, gave us temporary shelter, food, water, and medicine. For the first time, we began to trust humans again. But now… they cannot give us a permanent home.
